| Juliet Allen is one of Britain's
most exciting and experienced young concert pianists. Displaying outstanding
versatility, Juliet is currently in great demand as a soloist, accompanist
and chamber musician. She brings exceptional vitality and beauty to
her performances which creates huge popularity among her audiences.
Her extraordinarily wide repertoire has contributed to many highly acclaimed
performances in Britain, Europe, North America and the Caribbean.
Juliet made her recital debut
at the age of nine and shortly afterwards performed Beethoven's First
Concerto. She gained her ARCM Performer's Diploma at the age of fifteen
whilst studying with Nigel Wilkinson, and went on to graduate with a
First Class honours degree from Christ Church, Oxford. She then took
up the Nora Naismith scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music, London,
where she studied with Christopher Elton, Joseph Seiger and Maria Curcio.
She won the Grover Bennett Scholarship, the Frank Simms Prize and the
Advanced Performer's Diploma and went on to become the UK winner of
the European Music for Youth Prize. |
| Juliet now has thirty of
the major concertos in her repertoire. In the same year as performing
the complete cycle of Beethoven concertos she was invited to play Mozart
K466 with the London Mozart Players, a performance which was subsequently
broadcast by the BBC. She then played at the Chester Festival at the
invitation of Richard Hickox. Juliet has made many appearances for the
BBC on Radio 2 and Radio 3, appeared at the Edinburgh Festival and has
performed extensively in concerto and recital performances. As a highly
skilled accompanist and chamber musician, she plays regularly with the
Symphonia Ensemble and as part of several duo partnerships. Forthcoming
concerts include many recitals around Britain as well as performances
of Brahms 2, Tchaikovsky 1, and Chopin 2 at St John's Smith Square,
London. |
