Louise Cannon
 
Louise Cannon studied at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio; David Pollard is her current teacher. She has won many prizes including the Wolfson Singing Prize, Royal Overseas League “Outstanding Woman Competitor”, the Worshipful Company of Musicians’ Silver Medal and Countess of Munster scholarships.

Equally at home in opera or concerts, Louise has established a very successful career throughout Great Britain and Europe. Her operatic roles include appearances at Glyndebourne, with British Youth Opera, Scottish Opera-Go-Round, Venetian Opera, English Touring Opera and Opera Holland Park, in France, Spain and Malta and at the Batignano Festival. Louise has covered major roles for English National Opera and made her debut with the company as Fiordiligi at the Barbican before singing Blanche in Phyllida Lloyd’s acclaimed production of Poulenc’s Carmelites at the Coliseum. Recently Louise created the role of Lily in House of the Gods by Lynne Plowman at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Highlights of Louise’s concert work include the Mozart Requiem at the Royal Albert Hall, Berlioz’ Nuits d’été in Symphony Hall, Birmingham, Lutoslawski’s Chantefleurs et Chantefables at the Barbican and regular appearances with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Louise has also sung Rachmaninov’s The Bells with St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, in opera galas for Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace and for Elton John’s Summer Ball. Louise is looking forward to making her debut at the Bregenz Festival, Austria later this month.
