Alexander Walker is one of the most exciting conductors to emerge in recent years and his career has taken him all over the world, to the USA and the Far East as well as Europe. Internationally, recent engagements have included performances with the Russian State Symphony Orchestra, Prague Philharmonia, George Enescu Philharmonic, Bucharest, Russian Philharmonia and for the Finnish National Opera as well as concerts throughout Poland, Finland, Denmark, Turkey, the Balkans and former Soviet Union, where many of his concerts have been broadcast on national television and radio. In the UK, Alexander Walker works regularly at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and has recently conducted concerts with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of London Sinfonia as well as gala concerts at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and London’s Barbican Centre. Although performing extensively with professional groups, Alexander Walker is committed to continuing his work with amateurs, where he is highly regarded both as a musician and a teacher. He has conducting appointments with the Northampton Symphony Orchestra and Oundle Festival Opera as well as with the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra and also finds time to nurture talented young musicians at the Junior Royal Academy of Music on a regular basis. |
