Why we need help
In order to achieve this and to develop the orchestra for the future, we need constant support. The subscriptions that our players pay and the tickets we sell at concerts simply do not cover all our costs. By adding your support you will allow the NSO to:
- Choose the most varied and exciting repertoire.
- Employ the very best conductor and leader (which we do, by the way).
- Bring the best soloists to Norfolk.
- Take on exciting new projects.
- Give concerts further afield around Norfolk.
- Give concerts the right amount of rehearsal time to produce the best results.
- Play exciting new music which is still in copyright.
- Continue to fund the Young Concert Goers scheme.
- Continue to offer reasonably priced tickets for our concerts.
The Norfolk Symphony Orchestra is a registered charity, No. 263422. Your contribution will help this wonderful institution to continue and to blossom.
Please be part of our orchestra and support us!
There are lots of ways to help, the most obvious and pleasurable one is to come to our concerts regularly and enjoy the music - we'd love to see you. We also have an active Friends' Scheme, with over two hundred members. Some of our supporters give an Individual Donation, often for specific things that they care particularly about. Then there is Corporate Sponsorship - a strong relationship with local business can only give us a solid base from which to build. Finally there the issue of Legacy, a touchy subject, I know, but this is a way to help the orchestra continue to for future generations.
The Norfolk Symphony Orchestra is delighted to have well over two hundred Friends, whose support and encouragement have enabled the NSO to plan ahead and to progress with confidence. Benefits for members of the Friends' Scheme include priority booking with price reductions for all NSO concerts, regular newsletters, opportunities to meet the conductor and players at rehearsals, and listing in the NSO concert programmes.
NSO Friends clearly enjoy feeling part of a welcoming and buoyant concern and many give time to assist the orchestra behind the scenes. Others just enjoy listening to the music as part of an enthusiastic audience. An individual subscription is excellent value at only £22 (minimum) per year, and an application form can be downloaded here.
There are many ways to make a donation - large or small, any help is most welcome. Perhaps support a section? Section endowment enables you to support a particular section of the orchestra that you have a particular interest in. We will ensure that your name and personal support is channelled to that particular section. Section endowers will be credited in all concert programmes and on our website. We will also introduce you to players in that section. Donations go into our overall fund, but your interest in a particular section is established.
Sections of the orchestra are:
|Violas||Oboes||Trombones and Tuba|
|Cellos and basses||Bassoons||Timpani and percussion|
Other ideas are to:
- Support a concert
- Support the Young Concert Goers Scheme
- Support a rehearsal
- Support our professional conductor
- Support our professional leader
- Support a soloist
Whether you're seeking to engage staff and clients, get more involved in the community, or increase your brand profile, a corporate partnership with us can be tailored to your business needs. We don't believe in a 'one size fits all' approach, so we work with you to tailor packages large and small to create bespoke offerings especially for you. Becoming involved with the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra through a corporate partnership or membership is a sound business decision as well as a socially responsible one.
Something important to think about in your planning for the future is how you can support the causes most dear to you through a gift in your will. Legacies provide an important and ongoing source of income for the orchestra, preserving its heritage and helping to secure its future. Please remember the orchestra in your will, and safeguard the work of this fine orchestra in Norfolk.
