Meet our conductors

Principal Conductor: Tadeusz Kaznowski
Tadzik serves as Principal Conductor of the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra and Artistic Director of the Norwich Sinfonietta. Born in the UK, he studied conducting under the guidance of Peter Stark, Howard Williams, Elgar Howarth and George Hurst, graduating with First-Class Honours in his Bachelor’s degree and subsequently earning a Master’s in Conducting and Composition. His compositional studies were
supported by distinguished mentors including Prof. Paul Edlin, Prof. Roderick Williams, Dr. Matthew Wright and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies.
As a conductor, Tadzik has led a wide range of orchestras across the UK and is increasingly sought after to direct ensembles throughout the region. He is recognised for his ability to build players’ confidence, refine orchestral sound, and contribute to the artistic and organisational growth of the ensembles he leads. Recent
collaborations include the Academy of St Thomas, Norwich Philharmonic Orchestra, Norwich Mozart Orchestra, Norwich Baroque, Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, Southend Orchestra, Ensemble East and CoMA (Contemporary Music for All).
Deeply committed to Music education, Tadzik plays an active role in nurturing young musicians across Norfolk. He serves as a trustee of the Friends of the Norfolk County Youth Orchestra and works closely with the Norfolk Music Hub, while also collaborating with students from the Junior Royal College of Music and other specialist Music institutions to create concerto performance opportunities. In addition, he is a tutor for the Triorca Trust and an experienced teacher of the Performing Arts and French horn.
Associate Conductor: Daphne Delfas
Daphne Delfas is a conductor and violinist based in London. She is currently studying for a master’s degree in Conducting with Sian Edwards at the Royal Academy of Music. Since beginning her studies at the Academy, she has assisted David Bates on Royal Academy Opera’s production of Handel’s Rinaldo, participated in masterclasses with Jac van Steen and Ryan Wigglesworth, and recently conducted the Isokon Ensemble in a performance of Robin Holloway’s Fantasy-Pieces, supported by the Marchus Trust.
Daphne works with the New Mozart Orchestra, taking orchestral music into primary schools, and was Trainee Conductor with the Cambridge Philharmonic Orchestra for the 2024-2025 season, mentored by conductor Harry Sever. She took part in the Glover Edwards Conducting Programme (2024-2025) at the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Sian Edwards, Alice Farnham and Dame Jane Glover.

Daphne completed her bachelor’s degree in music at the University of Cambridge, where she was a Cambridge University Assistant Conductor, and conductor of the Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra. Other projects at Cambridge included being Music Director for a production of Britten’s opera The Rape of Lucretia and conducting several orchestral charity concerts.
As a violinist, Daphne has played with the Academy Baroque Soloists, performing in the Academy’s ‘Resounding Shores’ concert series, directed by Rachel Podger among others, and in Cambridge enjoyed performing on period instruments in the Cambridge University Collegium Musicum, under Margaret Faultless and Nicholas Mulroy. She held a Cambridge Instrumental Award, performing extensively in numerous chamber groups, as well as playing in all the university orchestras.
