Meet our conductors

Principal Conductor: Tadeusz Kaznowski
Tadeusz has strong connections with the NSO going back many years and we are delighted he has joined us as our principal conductor. Tadeusz is also the principal conductor of the Mozart Orchestra as well as the artistic director of the Norwich Sinfonietta. Born in the UK, he studied conducting with mentors Peter Stark, Howard Williams, Elgar Howarth and George Hurst, graduating with both a Bachelors (1st class) and Masters degrees in Conducting and Composition.
During this time, Tadeusz’s composition work was under the guidance of Prof. Paul Edlin, Prof. Roderick Williams, Dr. Matthew Wright as well as Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. Tadeusz’s experience as a conductor comprises leading a number of Orchestras around the UK and is increasingly in demand locally to lead a variety of ensembles. He has given premieres of new works by up and-coming composers such as Sam Messer and has worked with Kari Rydman. More recently, he has enjoyed working with the Academy of St Thomas, Norwich Philharmonic Orchestra, Norwich Mozart Orchestra, Norwich Baroque, Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, Southend Orchestra, Ensemble East and performing as the artistic director with the recently formed Norwich Sinfonietta. His passion for musical education and developing musical opportunities for young musicians continues to influence and inspire within Norfolk educational settings as well as his work with students from the Junior Royal College of Music to create concerto performance opportunities. Tadeusz is also a tutor for the Triorca trust.
